So I have the new system up and running.
It has 2 nvidia 8600GTS cards(running SLI) and I found something odd.
I can run the desktop resolution at 1680×1050 and 1280×1024, but not 1440×900.
This seemed a little odd, so I went digging, and apparently nvidia dropped 1440 in it’s latest round of drivers.
Why?
That’s almost like winamp not playing MP3s that start with the letter W.
I’m sure if I kept digging, then I could find a (to them) reasonable explanation. But to me…it’s just weird.
I was getting used to 1440. It was nice on the eyes.
1680 is a little small, and 1280 is mostly ugly.
I miss 1440.
If I had known, I probably wouldn’t have bought nvidia.
Just weird.

I agree. That is weird.
I wonder if it has to do with common LCD monitor resolutions? (That’s my best guess.)
Congrats on the new machine!

Yeah, isn’t that the standard LCD wide screen resolution?
