And here it is.
46 movies released in 2006 that I saw in 2006.
Not all in the theater mind you, there are some that I rented.
And it also isn’t ALL the movies that I saw this year, just the ones released this year.
-Suppose it was a good date movie. Mos Def was really good, although a little annoying at times. Overall a good movie to see.
-Twas a lot of fun. Sorta kinda like American Pie, but more and less stupid all at the same time. Odd.
-Well, it’s as good as all their other movies. Some real LOL moments but mostly stupid.
Beyond the Wall of Sleep
-I wanted to watch this, and like it, because it’s a Lovecraft tale. But it was so poorly acted and just overall crap for me to make it more than 20 minutes into it.
-Good movie, I’m sure it has a moral in there somewhere, but other than that a good action flick.
Borat: Cultural Learnings of America for Make Benefit Glorious Nation of Kazakhstan
-I was wondering if I could actually watch 90 minutes of the Borat character, but I made it through. I wish they had done more interviews and less behind the scenes but it was a good laugh.
-This is another one I avoided because I thought it was gonna be a Nascar movie, and I hate Nascar. But it wasn’t, and turned out to be fun. Probably helped that I watched it 5 times in one weekend ^_^
-I really liked the new bond film, but I can see why other Bond fans wouldn’t like it. It didn’t have all the same trappings that the other Bond films had, but the action was still there. And the fun.
-I’m torn on this one. There’s a part of me that really liked it, but I can understand that it’s not a sequel as it were to the original. But I’m getting tired of Kevin Smith stuff, he’s a bit of a one trick pony. They say he want’s to tackle a horror film next, and I’d like to see that.
The Da Vinci Code
-Didn’t pay for it, you shouldn’t have to either. Nothing special.
-Good God what a dumb movie. It was so predictable, and the effects and acting were terrible. Jean Renou(?) was the only good part of this movie.
-Didn’t really go anywhere, and it had a good ending. It was no Pi. But, a good date movie.
The Hills Have Eyes
-As much as I hate to say it, I’m getting really tired of the blood and gore movies as of late. There’s nothing there but FX, and it’s just not enough anymore.
Ice Age: The Meltdown
-Fun, but because they added more squirrel.
Lucky Number Slevin
-Lots o fun, really well acted, maybe a little predictable at times, but a good fun watch.
Mission: Impossible III
-People are saying that it’s the best of the lot, I didn’t walk away with that impression. Full of action though.
My Super Ex-Girlfriend
-Well…hmmm….not bad, but I wouldn’t bother.
-Saw it free on the plane and it was good for a chuckle.
-The smartest part of this was the release date. Good for a remake, although you can see why they had to add scenes for a modern audience. But it wasn’t a word for word remake as they changed the characters a little bit.
Over the Hedge
-Best animated film of the year. I like the cookie!
Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest
-Don’t know…I’ll see the third one because that’s who I am, but I wasn’t overly impressed with this. Never really got anywhere.
-Free on the plane, total waste of time.
The Pursuit of Happyness
-Excellent feel good movie. Will Smith rocks any role he’s handed.
A Scanner Darkly
-Since I hadn’t read it before hand, I didn’t know what to expect. Not sure if I really liked it or not. I think I mostly liked it but was more irritated at the place it was released.
Scary Movie 4
-If you saw the other three, then you know what this one it like. Parody movies are fun.
-Umm, really didn’t make me want to play the game.
-Good old fashion FX fun. Now that being said, there was plenty of other stuff that wasn’t FX to keep the movie going.
Snakes on a Plane
-Best part of this movie, is when my mother asked what it was about. Other than that, didn’t live up to the hype.
Stranger Than Fiction
-Good Will Farrel movie, and that’s hard to say. Feel good kinda thing.
-Again, didn’t live up to the hype, and full of holes. Wish Singer had done X3 instead.
Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby
-Dumb. Kinda fun, but mostly dumb.
-Run away. I have no idea who green lighted this crap.
-Good sequel and you can tell that it was written as a two parter.
What the Bleep!?: Down the Rabbit Hole
-Really wanted to like this. Really wanted a movie about physics and stuff, somehow it turned into a spiritual movie.
-Fun low budget horror flick. And it had Bruce Campbell in it. For a little while at least.
X-Men: The Last Stand
-Wish Singer had done it. Felt cut up and shortened. I’ve always said that it’ll be a good movie line as long as they don’t bugger it up. Well, they might have.
-Not at all what I expected. Not sure what I expected, but this wasn’t it. Good, and I would like to see it again in a different frame of mind.
-Boring. Really. Not enough action, too much filler.
The Wicker Man
-Since I didn’t like the original, not sure why I watched this. It was just as bad and with much less boobies.
The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift
-It;s the same as all the rest with worse acting. Did have a little Chiba in it and that was nice to see.
The Inside Man
-Wasn’t a great movie, but had a good ending. Not really worth seeing.
-Go watch this. Stop whatever you’re doing and go see this.
Thank You for Smoking
-Second best movie this year. Just after Kinky boots. So smart and funny.
V for Vendetta
-Hadn’t read the comics, but it was still a good movie. And it made me want to read the comic. Still haven’t.
OK, I think for this year I’ll write actual reviews. Maybe.
