Month: February 2007

QOTSA

Consider yourself bitch-slapped!
Or at least well enough to move on.

Finished easy.

Not sure how that game ranks song difficulty though.
I found No One Knows mucho harder than Ace of Spades, yet AOS was further down the list.
Anyway, easy is the past, on to…whatever is next.
Medium I guess.

So Close, yet…well, not even close

*sigh*
I’m writing of February.
8 pounds over. Which means, if you’ve been keeping score at home, I haven’t budged all month.

I’d like to think it went something like this:
January, all vim and vigor about this whole diet thing
February, blah

So I pull up my socks in March and run straight back to the path before I loose sight of it all together.

I’m checking the Ottawa Food Bank site now to see what they need most of.

8 pounds is a fair amount of food I suspect.

Ack

Playing Guitar Hero most of the evening.
I was doing rather well(on easy).
Then, The Queens of the Stone Age kicked me in the head.
Repeatedly.

I sleep now…seek revenge tomorrow!

ZZzzzz

On the drive back to work, I suddenly felt *really* tired.
And I mean almost falling asleep while driving tired.
I don’t know what happened.
I guess I went to bed a little late last night, but too late.
I was waiting on an Ebay thing to end(didn’t get it, too high) and that was 11:30.
Ish.
Closer to 12, but whatever.

Guess I just haven’t been getting a lot of sleep lately.
Maybe I should make a week of going to be at 10, and no later. No matter what.

There’s things I have to get for the house. Good things. Like chairs.
And a larger table. The table is covered, and the chairs(6) will only cost $20 each. So that’s not too bad.
I have to get a new lock for the front door though. Everytime I try to copy the key, it never works.
It’s something I’ve been meaning to do for awhile now. Maybe this weekend.

Just waiting for the bonus money to come in before I tackle the basement.
I suspect that, assuming I have all the cash, I can get it done in a couple of weekends.
One for the floor, one for the walls, one for…other things.
They might not be consecutive weekends(that’s a cash flow issue really) but roughly that amount of time.

Not much else to say I guess…

Weekend Update

Hey!

Friday was sorta eventful.
I bought a new digicam, the Canon PowerShot SD630. It’s a little cheaper when you go to Costco than if you buy online.
But it came with a second battery, which is cool.
Nice little jobbie, big screen, some great pics too.
Fun fun fun.

Also, I am filled with joy and sadness.
I picked up the DVD for The Amazing Screw On Head.
Joy because I have it on DVD now(woot), sadness because it’s a single episode, which means no one picked up the series.
Oh well, what’s there is pretty cool.

Since the dog has been running free, I decided to pick up some snow fence at Home Depot.
While I was there, I also found all their chain link stuff. I could have sworn I was up and down every aisle looking for that stuff, and didn’t fine it.
Apparently, I wasn’t down *this* aisle.
Looks like I can do the whole fence for less than $400, which is cool.
However, once I got home I noticed something, all this cold has frozen the ground.
In all honesty, I knew this would happen, I just didn’t realize how firm frozen ground really is.
I have a plan to thaw it, and we’ll see how well that works.

Then I had dinner and a date with T. She made baked spaghetti, which was awesome. Then we watched Hitched.
I was surprised to see Eva Mendes in it. Surprised since she’s a decent actress. She didn’t show it in Ghost Rider.

Sunday was a little more lazy. T and I went grocery shopping(for her) and then I watched House.
Dinner with the folks. Then Battlestar.

Today, well, I work from home, so that means I get to try my ground thawing idea.
Wish me luck ^_^

Fence

That fence is looking more and more necessary.
Dog took herself for another walk this morning.
Worst part of course is that she failed to come back when called.
You can imagine how happy I was about that.

To quote: “Fun time is over!”

It’s rather obvious that she doesn’t acknowledge me as her master, so that’s going to have to change.
Today.
Nothing brutal or bad, just dominate.

I know, I should have done this some time ago, like during the training. But since her escape Sunday and again today, it’s really cemented in my mind.

It’s all coming up Milhouse

Today is a good day.
I get notification that I’m getting a free PS2(ok, that was yesterday, but whatever)
I get my Bonus amount
Cent is selling me GH1 AND 2

If the day get’s any better, I should be on the lookout for run-away buses!

I’m also planning to do something with the ‘office’. Or Toy room, depending on how you look at it.

Right now the toys are on a pretty ratty shelf. It’s the basic wooden shelves from Ikea, the kind you would find in the basement/garage.
But the dust get’s on them, and the shelves aren’t really level. So it’s time to change that.
*Picture the current office*
I think I’ll move the desk kitty-corner across the room, facing the large wall.
I’ll paint that wall a brightish colour(red or something like it).
Get the same kind of shelving that I have for my DVDs, but glass shelves and no backing.
Some top and bottom lights. Glass doors. Also some of those cool wall mounted shelves that look like they’re part of the wall(for the cheaper stuff).
In my head it’ll look cool.
I have to go to Ikea to see if the pic in my head will work out the same as real life.
I think it’ll be close enough for me.
