Snow Pit

I wander downstairs to start making dinner.
There’s a ring at the door, and to my surprise there’s three kids with a tethered Quanuk!
I ask if she was any trouble, they say no because she’s so friendly(and she is!) and they give her back to me.
Looking outside in the back yard, I can see a path just on the other side of the fence.
Well, this won’t do.
Grabbing another pair of socks(can’t be too careful) I step out into the backyard and immediately sink up to my waist!
I should have packed a second pair of undies while I was at it.

I don’t have a large back yard, but when you have to go through 4 feet of snow, it’s a lot of work.

I pop out to the shed, but that’s not where she got out.
Looks like she hopped the neighbors fence(at the gate) and just wandered off through their backyard.
It appeared that the best course of action would be to dig a pit just at the gate so it’s less likely she can make it over.

I suppose I’ll find out at a later time if I’m successful.

I should really find her dog tags and put them back on her šŸ™‚
