So, this is it
Another year, another NaBloPoMo.
I had a lofty goal of 750 words each post for a total of at least 22500 words.
That was a lot of words.
It didn’t happen obviously. I’m not really sure what happened.
I suspect that I just wasn’t into it as much this year as I was last year.
Last year it was cool and new, this year, not so much.
And even when I dropped the word count I really didn’t do well.
Overall I thought my posting was poo(ish).
Basically my heart really wasn’t into it.
I’ll do better next year 🙂
Anyway, so with all that said, I would like to at least do the Free Music Friday.
This will be friends only, and each week I’ll have a few free songs for you to “sample”.
They might not even be that good, they might be warnings of what not to buy.
For the last year(or something like that) I’ve spent more on music than I have in the last 6.
That’s due to eMusic. I guess that if I’m to pay the $10 anyway, I might as well experiment with music.
Generally any given CD is about $2.50, and that’s what I’m willing to pay for something I’ve never hear of.
It’s not all that much really. It’s a safer gamble than $15-20 right?
And for the most part it’s been interesting to hear these bands that I’ve never heard of impress me in the way that most bands don’t.
Don’t get me wrong, it’s not like I’ve discovered the new Beatles or anything, but I’ve run into some really great bands.
Or at least bands that are playing the kind of music that I like.
And in the end, isn’t that what counts?
Not sure what other weekly thing I could do. Maybe just a question of the week?
Not sure how that would play out though.
I guess I’m trying to be more interactive.
I suppose I could just write you all email 😉

Congratulations!
Not quite what you set out to do, but ultimately, you made the effort and found something else you want to try… hard to find fault with that.
The music thing sounds good. I don’t find I listen to that much these days (often Fri-Sat, from about 11 PM to 1 AM), but I’m always looking for ways to find stuff I wouldn’t normally listen to (Shoutcast is pretty much it right now, but last.fm is an interesting idea — I’m open to alternatives!).
As to something more interactive… You could look at things like polls, quizzes, etc. If they’re custom built it’s still in the realm of _you_ interacting (rather than linking out to something) and that might meet your needs.
Something I know I’d be interested in is something food-oriented. Nicely, eating is one of the few things that can’t be ignored. I got all stoked after flyingsquirrel’s squash post and I’ve been meaning to ask more about the whole beer can chicken thing.
Anyhow, congrats again, and keep us posted!
