Propaganda
Just finished watching two, very old, Disney cartoons made during WW2.
I suppose it would be accurate to call them Propaganda films, because let’s face it, they were.
The first one was the birth and life of a young Nazi in ‘training’. That one didn’t have any usual Disney people in it, but it was effective. I guess.
I don’t think it would work in this day and age. But then again it might.
Anyway, the first video(10 minutes) detailed the birth of a German citizen, the fact that the parents had to prove their heritage, and choose an allowed name for their son. Then the warping of the fairy tales, wherein Hitler was the shining knight, German was the sleeping beauty, and Democracy was the evil witch. Then poor Hanz got ill, and a German solder came by to remind them that weakness was not tolerated in Germany. Then the boy got the idea that only the strong deserved the earth, in school of course. And then he just grew up suddenly into a Nazi solder and promptly marched to his death(Marching and Hailing, Hailing and Marching).
That one was pretty obvious.
The other one had Donald Duck ^_^
Still obvious, but with a Duck.I wonder if Germany was doing the same general thing. I’m sure they were, in fact I think I’ve seen some of it.
Propaganda is a funny thing.
Sorry…Donald Duck….^_^

I’ve seen some of the Nazi propaganda and it ain’t pretty. It doesn’t have Donald Duck in it. Which is probably good cos let’s face it cartoons have tremendous power. And who could resist the Nazi Duck? I don’t know anyone who could. It’s a damn good thing Hitler never finished his genetically modified waterfowl program!
Repeat after me:’Lederhosen ist nicht Lieberhosen; Lieberhosen ist nicht Liederhosen. Wo sind meine Liederhosen?’ Now walk into a leather bar in Germany.
Before or after a hair cut?
BabelFish translation:I am the sexual pastry
‘leather trousers is not dear trousers; Dear trousers is not song trousers. Where are my song trousers?’
Good God, I should revoke Comment privileges….
