X-MEN 2 ROCKS!
Watched it last night till 1am, and I was never in fear of falling asleep!
I would have to say that it was in fact better than the first.
I have e feeling that(of course, money depending) they had fully planned to make this a franchise movie. They laid a great base in the first movie; introduced the principal characters, the world environment, all major conflicts and of course left the movie wide open for others. The second movie they built upon that base very nicely.
As long as they don’t screw too much with the writing(that could be the only downfall, terrible writers) this franchise could go on for some time.
Hell, it is based on a comic that’s been around for 40 years. ^_^
And of course they left this one open for more movies. The ending makes it VERY obvious as to what’s happening next. Well, obvious to those of us that have read the comic, not so obviouse to those that haven’t or have just seen the first one.
But the main reason I liked this one more than the first, they had Colossus!.
He made a brief appearence, but it was awsome ^_^
He’s been my favorite character since I started reading the comic. I guess it started because he was the strong guy, but it turned out to be more than that. He was also an artist and a caring, big hearted person.
Yea, I know, my main influence growing up was a comic book character. ^_^
Could be worse I suppose, it could have been Groo!
I saw something on the news the other day about bootleg copies of currently playing movies being sold on the streets of New York. I did have the chance to download X2 Thursday night before I saw the movie. But I chose not to do so because it would have been some yahoo with a camera copying what was on the screen and it would have been terrible.
But I COULD have, and that is what’s disturbing.
People actually pay for that? I know that when I buy a bootleg anime series, it’s at least a good rip from a DVD, sure the subs might be terrible, but I can live with that, at least the video is good.
Day three of the anime fest and all I’ve done is watch the extras on the Spirited Away DVD. ^_^
I’ll probably watch Spirited Away tonight at Dougs. He’s expressed some interest in seeing it.Anyway, off to pay rent so they don’t throw all my storage stuff away….and maybe get some CDs….

Oy! What the hell’s wrong with Groo? It had poetry, and art, and philosophy, and… um, gore. And dumb jokes. It’s perfection! And best of all – NO SPANDEX!Take that, X-men fans.
Colossus is good…. Nightcrawler rocks!
In the comics they were very good as a pair I thought… or perhaps I just saw them as playing off each other all the time and I got used to it. *shrug*
