More Gundam
Just watched a promo video for the new Gundam series, ‘Gundam Seed’, available from Gundam Plus. Here’s the Promo Video(21Meg .asf file).
Looking at it, it seems to mix the look of the original series(all the way down to a Pink Haro) and the feel of the alternate series(G, Wing, X).
It sticks to a well known formula with the ‘bad guy’ having a mask, colonies in space, always a war(guess it would be boring without) and enough Mobil Suits to choke on.
I have to say that there are not a lot of original looking designs in this, but I guess you stick to what works. But the main suit looks really nice.
Overall, the animation looks slick and pretty and I’ll be happy when it one day filters to my DVD player in one form or another.
That being said, I still have to see Z, ZZ, V and Turn A.
One day, one day.

Some of these are summations of TV shows and some are OVAs. I nabbed this list from MAHQ. Great source for anime mecha stuff.
Yeah… It’s been a while. Turn A was the last series, and it wasn’t incredibly long. G-Saviour is live action, so it doesn’t count. Green Divers is some crazy one-off thing we’ll probably never get to see. And the two 2002 Turn A movies are almost certainly just spliced together from the TV series.
SEED looks pretty cool. Formulaic, but cool.
