Since I last updated.
I really really meant to, but I haven’t.
As you can tell I’m sure.

It is the end of an era for me. Mechaknight.com is officially not being renewed, and I think if you go to it now there’s some kind of place holder. Or not a thing as it turns out.
I just didn’t see any reason to hold onto it anymore. Sad really, it was a lot of fun.
But, I did find this great entry, or entries I suppose, on www.waybackmachine.com. I guess it picked a good day to archive my old site. I downloaded the stuff and I’ll post it here later this week.
It’s fun to read the past.

I think I’m really starting to like Slackware.
The install is not flashy, but just as useful as Mandrake. It loaded up X just as easily, in fact, it was easier.
And this is on a laptop.
Now the only thing that I have to do is get the wireless running, and Jim tells me that he has a script for this. So that should be easy as well.
I have to admit though that the install tripped me up. When it asked for the Kernal to use, I stupidly said the one on the floppy. Normally this would be ok, but the laptop has no floppy. So it hung there and refused to do anything.
I stopped the setup, did the setup again, thought everything was dandy, rebooted, and the Kernal panicked and hid under the couch for a little while.
After bribing it with peanuts, I did the install over again, this time choosing the default kernal, and bingo, it loaded properly, ran right into X, and then I went to bed.

I figured if I did anything after that I would just be pushing it. It seemed too easy…as such.

I have another Japanese class tonight.
I always look forward to those, it’s almost the high point of the week. But this week, the high point will be the fact that I have Friday off.
That always rocks.

Might even finish FarCry tonight. That’s been a rocking game.
And maybe even a little City of Heroes.
Although, I’ve been told by many(some directly, some indirectly) that I should really be playing World of Warcraft.
That’s another pay-to-play game, and I think I’ll give it a whirl…next month. Not this month…just because.
