Work
How is work?
Work is rather good. Admittidly that software testing isn’t the most exciting field in the world, it has it’s moments of detective work that make up for the rest of it.
And let me tell you, the work is most certainly there. For instance, I work today, again putting off a trip to Muskoka.
The people are fun to work with or for, depending on how you look at it, and the general environment is really nice. In the last place, the people were nice, but the environment was, well, lacking. I never felt that it mattered that I did anything(and obviously it didn’t for I did as little as humanly possible), but here it’s different. Here I matter(mainly because I’m finding bugs). And most importantly, my boss lets me know that I’m important, something that NEVER happened at the last place. There, my boss knew I showed up because he hated me. Well, he hated everyone, and we hated him, so it was alright.
So that’s how work is.
Generally speaking, work is good.
Now back to checking my lottery numbers so I never have to go back to work ever again….

Hey!
Good to hear that the work thing is moving ahead nicely. Isn’t it nice when that happens? 🙂
Anyhow, sorry for dropping off the face of the earth for a bit, but I grew disgruntled with the Windows XPerience, and have successfully installed Mandrake 9.1 RC2 (ADSL is always such a pain with Mandrake… but at least it exists… know much about firewalls, iptable and shorewall in particular?).
(The XP thing got really bad when I realized that every stupid app out there really wants you to run in Admin mode… even though Windows Logo testing flat out states this is a no-no… Somehow, I managed to get IE to refuse to download anything… Luckily, I still had command line http://FTP... Got the Mozilla 1.3 release, and pulled down the Mandrake ISOs… so far, so good. 🙂
Anyhow, since I’m happy again, I should be able to restore your email and reply.
It’s good that the XFree handles the i830 video better now (ie. no hacking to get things to work as they should… 🙂
I suppose I owe Mandrake a ‘support’ purchase now. (Besides, it’ll let me point a few things they could still do a little better. 🙂
Take ‘er easy!
